First of all, thank you to one of our lovely clients in Australia for challenging me to write a blog about #Kentishontour, based around songs. As my world time clock is a bit out of synch right now, I’m burning the Midnight Oil, so here goes…
Most of 2014 has been spent in the UK, apart from a couple of trips to Dubai. As luck would have it, several opportunities came up around the same time to work overseas, so early September saw me Leaving on a Jet Plane (John Denver) from Heathrow. With just a few days back in the UK in between trips, this means I’ll be Gone Till November (Wyclef Jean). It’s not as if I’m going Around the World (Daft Punk), but my first stop was Down Under (Men at Work). This visit to Australia saw me in Sydney for two weeks – not much time off but I did manage to get to Taronga Zoo to see The Animals, who were no doubt silently saying We Gotta Get Out of This Place! On our last trip to Australia we headed to our Island in the Sun (Weezer) in the Whitsundays but this time I ventured no further than The Suburbs (Arcade Fire).
Now I’m On the Road Again (Willie Nelson) with a stopover in Dubai. Time to catch up with Old Friends (Simon & Garfunkel) and send a Postcard (Roddy Frame) or two, before Travelling Our Way Home (The Bishops).
I can already hear London Calling (The Clash) and towards the end of the week I’ll be Homeward Bound (Simon & Garfunkel) before heading to Paris (Friendly Fires).
In between all the work we’re also taking time for Holidays in the Sun (The Sex Pistols) then off to India, India (John Lennon) and lastly Istanbul (not Constantinople) (They Might be Giants). So, yes, I Get Around (The Beach Boys), but it’ll soon be Time to Say Goodbye (Andrea Bocelli) and I’ll be Driving Home for Christmas (Chris Rea).
Time to sign off, I can hear ‘This is your captain calling’ (The Zombies), so off goes The Passenger (Iggy Pop) on her next adventure!

Liz, Thank You for the Music (ABBA). Great to see you in Australia. Until next time, So Long, Farewell (The Sound of Music) 🙂
