Tips for you as a workshop attendee

The Kentish team is facilitating a lot of in-person workshops with clients at the moment, and here are a few of our tips for attendees to help you get the most value, make an impact, and leave feeling inspired.

1. Come Prepared

Review any pre-materials, agenda, or goals shared ahead of time. A quick review helps you come in with context, ready to engage with the content.

2. Bring the Essentials

Pen, notebook, a water bottle, and any relevant tech. A ready workspace means you can focus on what really matters: learning and connecting.

3. Be Open & Engaged

The power of in-person workshops is in the connections and collaboration that happen in real-time. Ask questions, share ideas, and don’t be afraid to offer feedback. Participation can make all the difference.

4. Network with Purpose

Workshops are a golden opportunity to build relationships. Introduce yourself to new people, exchange contacts, and follow up after the session.

5. Be Present

It’s easy to get distracted, but try to stay present and embrace the experience. Set your phone on “do not disturb” and lean into each moment. As Jim Rohn so wisely said, 'wherever you are, be there'.

6. Take Actionable Notes

Jot down key takeaways, insights, or action items you can apply back in the workplace. Reflect on what you’ll implement and how you can bring your learnings to life.

7. Follow Up

After the workshop, connect with attendees on LinkedIn, share your takeaways, and keep the conversation going. It's a great way to solidify those new connections.

By showing up with intention, you can make the most of the workshop, build strong connections, and gain insights that last far beyond the day.
